Course Outline: COMMUNICATIONS 12

Course Duration:
You have one calendar year to complete this course from the date of Activation. *Students are required to take a Provincial Exam once the course is complete. Provincial Exams are to be written at the students Primary School.

Introduction:

  • Developing written compositions that are organized, detailed and clear
  • Communicating well using email and letters, with a focus on business usage
  • Using correct terminology to discuss literature and non-fiction, and understanding/applying figurative language to writing
  • Analyzing and discussing literature/non-fiction in depth and detail
  • Assessing the power of media and the relationship of self to social media

Internet access. Links to all earning resources (poems, stories, videos etc.) are provided. There may be a $50.00 refundable Novel deposit.

Evaluation:
Substantive Activation Assignment = 5%
Assignments = 80%
Final School Exam – 15%

Student Responsibilities
Students are expected to log onto the course and submit one assignment each week (or have contact with the instructor). Students who do not log onto the course, or keep in contact with their instructor on a weekly basis, will be viewed as having withdrawn from this online course. If you are active and withdraw from an online course, the Ministry of Education regulations will prohibit you from retaking this online course for two reporting periods.
