- Principles of Law, moral vs legal issues
- Common Law, statutes, constitutions
- Canadian court system
- Dispute resolution
- Criminal offence, rights of accused, procedures
Civil Law / Contract Law / Family Law
- Negligence, Torts, Contracts
- Marriage, Parental rights, Children’s right
The Law 12 course is designed to introduce you to only a few of the aspects of the Canadian Legal System. Law is an essential part of Canada’s culture; without it we could not function effectively I our daily lives.

The textbook for Law 12 is “All About Law” (4th Edition)
Substantive Assignment = 5%
Assignments = 353%
Tests = 30%
Book Report = 10%
Final Exam = 20%

Students are expected to log onto the course and submit one assignment each week (or have contact with the instructor). Students who do not log onto the course, or keep in contact with their instructor on a weekly basis, will be viewed as having withdrawn from this online course. If you are active and withdraw from an online course, the Ministry of Education regulations will prohibit you from retaking this online course for two reporting periods.
