Psychology 11

Course Outline: PSYCHOLOGY 11

Course Duration:  You have one calendar year to complete this course from the date of Activation.

Units of Study:

  • Define what Psychology is
  • Explore how Psychology applies in society and to our own lives
  • Explore branches of Psychology and jobs of Psychologists

Introduction:

Psychology 11 is an introductory course that will touch on a variety of topics, specifically history, research, motivation, stress, theories of development, personality and states of consciousness. Psychology is the study of the human mind and human behavior. It is a field of science, and as such you are invited to have a curious mind.

Evaluation:

There are twelve assignments in this course. Each assignment is thorough, and it is expected that students will put approximately 8 hours into each one. Criteria is given for projects and assignments.

Substantive Assignment = 8.3%
12 Assignments = 91.7%

This course is a SD42 Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Board Approved Course.

Student Responsibilities

Students are expected to log onto the course and to submit at least one assignment (or have contact with their instructor) each week. Students who do not log onto the course or keep in contact with their instructor on a weekly basis will be viewed as having withdrawn from their online course and will be notified of this by their instructor. Students who withdraw from an online course are not allowed by Ministry of Education regulations to retake the same online course for two reporting periods.
